SmartStart (included in the HP Insight Foundation Suite for ProLiant) is delivered with every ProLiant ML and DL 300, 500, and 700 series server and supports ProLiant. Nov 16, 2017 SmartStart is a single-server. It assists with Windows OS installation process and integrates and optimizes HP ProLiant server support software.

I've used both methods (and sadly have a couple of dozen SmartStart discs laying about for G5 & G6's). I find the simplest and easiest is to NOT use the disc for setting up the array (assuming you have the 'standard' p200i controller on the G5?). During the boot up, wait for the screen to say 'press [F8] to configure arrays' (or something very close to this.it's right after the ILO-2 configuration message).

Press F8 when prompted (may take a couple tries to nail it), and once you're in, it's very straightforward (read 'intuitive') from there. The other option as Huw pointed out is just to download it.

But it's totally not necessary. I've built dozens of servers without it, mostly RAID10, some RAID5. Thank you all for your prompt replies. I am new to configuring HP servers so your help is really appreciated. The server is to arrive early next week. It’s a used machine.

My understanding is it has 2 each 146 gig drives and 6 each 72 gig drives. I don’t know yet whether they are on separate controllers. My guess is they probably are. My plan is to mirror the 2 146 gig drives and make the 6 each 72 gig drives into a RAID array. May be you all have better ideas on how to configure the drives.

Gmax Activation Code Serial. I appreciate any thoughts you might have. Tadpole 2000 Movie Torrent more. You won't really know until you get the hardware, but I suspect it's just the single controller (p200i), with a dual RAID configuration (the 2x146 are RAID1 and for the O/S, and the 6x72 are RAID5 for files/data storage). Based on the hardware that makes the most sense. That's also how I would set up those drives, although I typically like to have a 3rd 146 as a hot spare on the O/S.depends on the application really, but most time's that's what I do. But I reserve the right to be wrong.;-) Cheers!, DD.
