Reply by schismrule on October 18, 2013 The free version is actually capped at 50MB/s. If I was using it commercially and formatting many drives, speed would be important to me and then certainly the paid 'Uncapped' version is what I would go for. Your speed issues are not due to the software but very likely due to your hardware, or limitations in your chain from the software to your drive, remember it will only run and the speed of the slowest part of the chain. For example when I am formatting a drive using my SATA to USB adaptor it runs at a steady 27MB/s which is all the cable will handle, no doubt with better hardware or using the SATA connector directly to the motherboard I will get better speeds but the 27MB/s cap is fine for my occasional use and the convenience of the USB connection. I suggest testing the software on a different hardware setup or investigating your speed issues more thoroughly before labeling the software as 'crippleware' and 'Useless'.
You cannot format a USB drive with bad sectors. However you can try to recover from them. Gt I9060 Firmware. • Open Windows Explorer and navigate to Computer. • Right-click the drive in question and select Properties from the drop-down menu. • Go to the Tools tab and click on the button Check Now, under the 'Error-checking' section.
• Check both 'Automatically fix file system errors' and 'Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors'. • Initiate the scan. It may take a good while. If those bad sectors are recoverable, they will be properly marked and you can now proceed to format your USB drive, if you so wish. Or recover any data that may be in the drive. This USB drive is no longer reliable though. And you should replace it.
